What Is Scaffolding in Our Line of Work?
🪜

Scaffolding here refers to stable, wheeled or framed elevated platforms designed specifically for interior (or sometimes exterior) use. These are not the massive exterior systems used in building construction — they are compact, professional-grade tools that give our trained installers a solid, level working surface with guardrails for safety. We may also use scissor lifts in some commercial or very large residential jobs. All equipment meets or exceeds industry safety standards (including OSHA federal guidelines and Washington State WISHA rules under WAC 296-874).

Our Process: Assessment First

Every job is assessed during your in-home consultation or measurement appointment. We choose the simplest safe method that delivers excellent results.

When Do We Typically Use Scaffolding?
🏠

High or Hard-to-Reach Windows

Windows or mounting points above approximately 10–12 feet (or where safe ladder reach becomes limited or awkward), including clerestory windows, vaulted ceilings, or two-story great rooms.

🪜

Difficult Access Areas

Spaces over staircases, furniture clusters, atriums, or rooms with uneven or sloped floors, high furniture, or obstacles that make ladder positioning unsafe or unstable.

🪟

Complex or Heavy Window Treatments

Large drapery rods, motorized shades, wide or heavy blinds, valances, or multi-panel systems that require precise leveling, multiple hands, or extended time at height.

🏢

Exterior Applications

Outdoor shading, awnings, or exterior window treatment installations where ground-level access to mounting points is not possible from a standard ladder.

In short, if the job involves working more than a quick reach at height — or if ladders would compromise safety, quality, or your property — we choose scaffolding.

Why Scaffolding Instead of Just Ladders?

Superior Safety

It provides a wide, stable platform with guardrails and fall protection, reducing the risk of slips or falls. Industry standards like OSHA's 10-foot fall-protection threshold on scaffolds guide our decisions.

Better Installation Quality

A solid footing means steadier hands, more accurate measurements, perfectly level hardware, and secure mounting — leading to treatments that look better and last longer.

Protection for Your Home

Scaffolding is less likely to mark walls, floors, or trim compared to repeated ladder repositioning.

Efficiency and Comfort

Installers work more comfortably and quickly without constant climbing up and down, often finishing the job with fewer adjustments.

We never cut corners on safety. Using the right equipment protects our team, your investment, and ensures a flawless result you'll enjoy for years.

5

Cleanup

The area is left as clean (or cleaner than) we found it.

Alternatives We Consider First

For standard-height windows (typically under 10 feet with clear access), we use high-quality extension ladders or step stools following strict safety protocols. Lightweight treatments in easily reachable spots may even use specialized extension poles. We always choose the simplest safe method that delivers excellent results.

Our Commitment to You

Scaffolding is a tool we use when the job calls for it — not an upcharge for its own sake. Our goal is always the same: a safe, precise, professional installation of beautiful window fashions that enhance your home. If scaffolding is part of your project, it's because it's the smartest, safest way to get the job done right. We're happy to walk through the plan with you in detail and answer any questions.
